Bracelets for the hope of curing diabetes
Cara Collection has launched bracelets to benefit research on diabetes. The owner of Cara Collection, Sofia Bergqvist, has had type 1 diabetes for over 20 years and has in different ways supported research for several years.
- I know what it's like to live with this chronic disease that many know very little about. I want to raise awareness around diabetes and at the same time support essential research. My dream is to contribute to a cure for diabetes, says Sofia Bergqvist.
Worldwide, 382 million people have diabetes and by 2035 the number will be 592 million. Even though so many people become sick, diabetes and research on diabetes don’t get enough attention or resources to end the disease.
The bracelets are inspired by the World Diabetes Day* logo which reflects the sky that unites all nations and has the color of the UN flag. The bracelets can be ordered at http://webshop.caracollection.se/ and are delivered within 2 days.
*World Diabetes Day is a United Nations day celebrated every year on November 14. It was created as a response to growing concerns about the escalating health threat that diabetes poses.
